Stacy here with another music for kids review.

This band, Recess Monkey, must just be the funniest group of guys around. Deep Sea Diver is their ninth studio CD and is set to release June 18, 2013.  They are from Seattle Washington which has become music central over the past 30 years or so.

These three guys…Drew, Jack and Korum have got serious talent. Seven of their songs have reached #1 on Sirius/XM’s Kids Place Live chart. These guys have got it going on. They have held on to their imagination (so many of us lose ours once we reach adulthood) and have managed to use their talents for music and song writing  to entertain children with funny lyrics and serious beats.

I love it that my daughter can crank this up and we BOTH enjoy it.

Deep Sea Diver has an ocean theme set in a submarine. How fun is that!!

I would have to say that tracks four and twelve are my favorite. #4 is titled Beach Ball. If you’ve ever blown up a beach ball you will really appreciate this song. I never thought there was so much to say about blowing up and playing with a ball. But, if you take the process, add the fun, some guitar, bass and drums it’s like being a kid with your first beach ball all over again. #12 is titled Walkie Talkies. This song makes me want to go out and buy a pair. I had walkie talkies as a kid and I’m sad to say that my kids do not. I had forgotten all about them and the fun to be had playing with them. Thank you Recess Monkey for reminding me.

My daughter really likes tracks one and five. Tambourine Submarine has some serious beats that she loves with easy to sing lyrics. Shrimp gives her a giggle because she is the shortest kid in her class and it’s her favorite seafood. Give that girl a shrimp cocktail and she doesn’t come up for air until the last one is gone!

Thanks Recess Monkey for reminding us that it’s okay to be a kid and a kid at heart!!
