Thank you to Shelton Interactive for providing me with a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Kids, free of charge, for review. These are my own honest opinions.
It is no secret that this world has a major issue with bullying … and so many children suffer from low self-esteem. Chicken Soup for the Soul – known for their uplifting stories across a wide array of genres – has done it yet again, but this time for the little, most important people in our lives!
Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Kids contains 101 stories for kids ages 7 to 13 that revolve around:
- Being responsible
- Trying something new
- Making Real friends
- Doing the right thing
- Developing self-esteem
- Handling bullies and cliques
- Appreciating your family
- Making good choices
- Being grateful
This is most definitely a book I am keeping nearby for when my girls are old enough to benefit from it. Hearing stories about values, good decisions and gratitude from fellow children is probably the best way to have some of these messages hit home. Many of these stories set out to break my heart at first, but I was amazed at the way that so many of these children and young adults perservered and came out ahead all thanks to the power of positive thinking and by doing the right thing and make the right decisions. I highly applaud this book and the effect it could have on many, many young lives.
