HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A woman in her 60′s was killed after she was struck by a vehicle at a busy Honolulu intersection on Monday.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near the corner of Vineyard Boulevard and Pali Highway.

Authorities said the pedestrian was crossing Pali Highway, in a marked crosswalk against a “Do Not Walk” sign, when she was hit by a passing car and thrown onto the road.

The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.

HPD said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was uninjured.

Speed, drugs and alcohol don’t appear to be contributing factors in the crash, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing.

This is the 46th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 52 at the same time last year.
