HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Tis the season for holiday platters.

KK Panoke and Michelle Parker of Aloha Cones in Kalihi showcased their customizable party platters of poke, sushi and sushi, sushi cakes and sushi bowls for the holiday season or any special occasion.

They joined HNN’s Sunrise to prepare their newest item: the poke nacho platter.

Orders for ahi and fish typically rise ahead of New Year’s Day, because fish is a popular New Year’s food in many cultures, symbolizing good fortune and abundance. In Hawaii, the price of sashimi-grade ahi can jump to $40 per pound due to high demand.

Aloha Cones is located at 1339 N. School Street and is open seven days a week, Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It will be open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will only do pre-orders for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Order cakes and platters at least 24 hour in advance.
