HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Images from space are showing just how impressive of a storm Hurricane Lane is as it churns in the Central Pacific, very close to the Hawaiian islands.
NASA astronaut Ricky Arnold tweeted Wednesday morning two shots of the storm in which the eye can be clearly seen.
In the tweet, he mentioned the Category 4 storm was near the islands and added the crew of the International Space Station sends "much aloha to everyone there."
Another video from the International Space Station shows the magnitude of Hurricane Lane, which is packing maximum sustained winds of 155 mph.
At last check, Hurricane Lane was approximately 305 miles south of Kailua-Kona.
