Job seekers ‘jumpstart’ their careers at annual Holiday Tech Job Fair
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Technology Development Corporation held its 23rd annual Holiday Tech Job fair on Saturday.
Job seekers stopped by the Entrepreneurs Sandbox in Kakaako looking for career and internship opportunities in engineering, technology and defense.
“I think everybody in today’s economy is looking for a path to retirement that’s very secure. The jobs for the state, if you look closely at the website, they are very decent in how they pay so I think it’s very relevant for anybody who is trying to find a job,” said Armando Moncada.
Katja was born in Hawaii but is now a resident of Colorado. She attended the fair while visiting her family here for the holidays.
“My goal is to come back here someday, I just need to find a job,” she said.
This fair was free and open to the public — some even drove from Oahu’s west side to attend the event.
“Just looking for opportunities to be able to jump start my life and just looking forward to the future with a job and being able to progress with it,” one Nanakuli resident said.
Job seekers also got their resumes reviewed, along with taking headshots.
