First Alert Traffic: Portion of Farrington Highway closed in Waipahu due to 8-inch main break

Drivers are advised to expect traffic delays.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A first alert for drivers heading out the door Wednesday morning, a portion of Farrington Highway in Waipahu remains closed as Board of Water Supply crews repair an 8-inch water main break.

The break was first reported around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

BWS crews said it is located at 94-801 Farrington Highway in Waipahu, near Highway Inn.

The left, westbound lane of Farrington Highway remains closed between Mokuola Street and Waipahu Depot Road.

One lane of traffic remains open in the westbound direction. Drivers are advised to expect delays.

Eastbound traffic is not affected.

Officials said nine customers are without water service, and the outage is expected to continue throughout the day.

A water wagon was placed at 94-830 Moloalo Street.

No word of when repairs will be completed.
