HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Three people were rushed to the hospital Friday morning following a major crash in Nanakuli involving multiple vehicles.

It’s now believed a speeding driver may have been the cause of the multi-car wreck on Farrington Highway.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a 31-year-old man is in critical condition, and two others were seriously injured — both men in their 30s.

The crash was reported around 5:20 a.m. near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Auyong Homestead Road.

HPD says that a 31-year-old sideswiped a vehicle, which caused him to lose control and crash into others on the road.

Police said one of the vehicles was overturned, and in total, six cars were involved.

Crews with the Honolulu Fire Department also responded and used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate a person trapped in one of the vehicles.

At last check, the 31-year-old is in the hospital in critical condition, and two other men also needed medical care, but they are expected to be OK.
