HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - San Jose State and South Florida were selected for the 2024 Hawaii Bowl, officials announced Tuesday.

San Jose State is representing the Mountain West Conference while South Florida will represent the American Athletic Conference at Clarence TC Ching Athletics Complex on Dec. 24.

The 21st edition of the game returns to its traditional Christmas Eve time slot after being played on Dec. 23 last year.

The Spartans will make its second straight Hawaii Bowl appearance while the USF makes its first trip to the islands.

This will be a homecoming for SJSU first-year head coach Ken Niumatalolo and multiple members of his coaching staff.

Offensive coordinator Craig Stutzmann is also a former UH standout and Saint Louis alumna, while the staff also features former UH standouts in offensive line coach John Estes and senior offensive analyst Billy Ray Stutzmann.
