HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - February is American Heart Month and experts are hoping to bring more awareness to heart disease which is the leading cause of death in the U.S.

Dr. Andrew Baldwin is a cardiothoracic surgeon with Hawaii Pacific Health and the medical director of cardiac surgery at Straub Medical Center, and he explains what aortic aneurysms are and how common they are.

Aortic aneurysms can be hard to detect, but Dr. Baldwin discusses how doing a yearly CT scan with your primary care doctor can help to prevent or manage the condition.
