Healthier Hawaii: A closer look at Waipahu High’s new academic health center

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Waipahu High School recently had a blessing for their new academic health center. It’s the first of its kind in the nation.
The center allows students to get direct, first-hand experience in healthcare, working alongside and shadowing medical professionals.
Dr. Leslie Chun, CEO of Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group, explains what makes the academic center so unique.
He also shares the inspiration behind the effort and what Hawaii Pacific Health hopes students will get out of it.
